about usXtreme Motorsports was founded in 1990 with a vision of creating a shop that offered exceptional service to all customers – whether their needs were routine maintenance or a desire to enhance the performance capabilities of their vehicle. Owners Scott Schaeffer and Jan Moeller have kept that vision alive with a shop that is known for high levels of customer service, reasonable pricing and top notch performance work on all domestic cars. Using Lingenfelter Performance Engineering as a model, Xtreme Motorsports originally catered to Corvette enthusiasts but has since evolved to focus on all domestic cars and is recognized as having the strongest history of late model GM performance out of all the Arizona shops. From oil change and brake service to enhanced performance work Xtreme Motorsports offers the best of all services to any customer – no matter what type of vehicle they bring into the shop. Scott Schaeffer Born and raised in Chicago, Scott moved to Arizona in 1999 and discovered Xtreme Motor Sports shortly thereafter – as soon as they opened their doors. Scott grew up around muscle cars and Corvettes, in fact Corvettes have been a part of his family since before he was even born. He developed an affinity for racing in high school and his interest only grew from there. Within a few years he began racing his turbo charged truck and moved onward and upward to racing his Grand National Turbo Buick. Now a co-owner of Xtreme Motor Sports, Scott divides his time at the shop between customer relations and relationship building and rolling up his sleeves to help out when he’s needed. Scott’s passion for high performance cars is fueled by his fascination with the speed, style and abilities of the vehicles. More than anything, he believes that the architecture and design is what draws a person to a car, and the performance can be perfected afterward. Which is where he comes in – his true passion is taking something great and making it even better. Scott still actively races his Turbo Buick and can often be found at shows, the drag strip or working on his Corvette. His most recent accomplishments include placing second in the non-electronics bracket at 1320x, one of only 100 cars in the class to proceed that far. He’s also won Arizona’s Fastest Street Car and placed multiple times in the finals in this event as well as the 2008 West Coast Hot Rod Event and the Truck and Nationals Event. Jan Moeller As co-owner of Xtreme Motor Sports, Jan is involved in everything from serving as the shop foreman to selling and expanding the business. He began his career in the performance industry nearly 13 years ago as an apprentice at Coulter Cadillac in Phoenix. From there, his talent and experience took him to various independent garages including Chuck’s Speed and RV Center, also in Phoenix. But his interest in cars began many years prior to that. Before he was even old enough to drive, his father gave him a 1964 Volkswagen and a motor – and told him if he could figure out how to put it together and make it run, he’d have himself a car. Much to his father’s surprise, he came home one day to find Jan driving it around the block. At the age of 15, it would seem that Jan’s career path had been determined. These days, Jan prefers Corvettes to Volkswagens and is now an ASC Certified Technician and Master Craftsman for Cadillacs. In 1997 he became involved with the Buick Grand Nationals where he performed aftermarket tuning leading him to Gallina Freeman Racing working as crew chief alongside Kenny Duttweiller. It was this experience that allowed him to hone his skills in high performance race preparation, repair, upgrades, fabrication and maintenance for everything from street cars to race cars. In his free time, Jan is a high performance car enthusiast and has won the 960 Index Class in the Pacific Street Car Association (PSCA) and took runner up at the PSCA Supercar Nationals in 2008. Cody Vandarol After graduating from Wyo Tech, Cody went to work for Van Chevrolet in Phoenix and is currently the lead technician at Xtreme Motor Sports. A lifelong passion for cars has kept Cody involved in the performance industry for more than a decade where he has concentrated on motorworks and developed an affinity for Corvettes. When he’s not hunting or fishing, Cody is also the owner of a high performance truck he uses to practice his trades. |
